Caleb had his six month well check-up today. Here's how he is measuring up:

Length: 28 inches (up from 26 1/4 inches)
Weight: 17 lbs 3 oz (down from 18 lbs 9 oz)

Even though it went down, no one is worried about his weight. He is drinking the same amount of formula as he was two months ago plus he is now gobbling up solid foods. So these current measurements do nothing more than heighten my suspicion that the scale (which also happened to be a different one than he was measured on today) was a bit off last time. Even so, the doctor wants to keep an eye on it -- and make sure sure he is weighed on the same scale at his next appointment so that we have a point of reference. As for his length, all I can say is you betcha! Caleb is long, long, long, and has ventured into the world of 12 month sized clothing to prove it.

The doctor pointed out a non-specific blanching rash on his face, as well a minor issue with the way his circumcision has healed, but neither is a cause for any concern. In a few more weeks we'll start weaning him off of the antacid prescribed for his reflux. As far as immunizations go, he got three shots, which didn't go over too well with him, but overall Caleb is as healthy and on target as can be.
