Today has been all about shuttling my boys to doctor's appointments. Both are relatively healthy, as you'll see below, but I'm feeling a little sick of waiting rooms, crabby receptionists, and wiggly children in confined spaces.
Appointment #1 - Caleb's 9 month well check-up
He's doing great and meeting all of the necessary milestones. It turns out that the gobs of green snot that have lately been cascading out of nose are actually being caused by a summer cold and not the seasonal allergies I suspected. Thankfully, though, he's old enough for a dose of Children's Zyrtec (um, I mean the store-brand equivalent of the recently recalled Children's Zyrtec). At any rate, here are his stats:
Weight: 18 lbs 8 oz (up from 17 lbs 3 oz at age 6 months)
Length: 30 inches (up from 28 inches at age 6 months)
Appointment #2 - Garrett at the audiologist
I'm in the process of getting Garrett set up to receive speech therapy through the school district once he turns 3. As a part of this, they wanted him to have a comprehensive hearing exam to rule out the possibility of hearing loss being the cause of his speech delay. Garrett liked sitting in the soundproof box and he did everything the doctor asked him to (which surprised me). Just as I thought it would be, his hearing is fine, though the doctor did find a little fluid build up behind his ear drum. It's not infected (he's never had an ear infection), but I guess Caleb's not the only dealing with a summer cold.

Dang, I just took Harry in for an appt and he is 18 lbs. 4 oz. at 7 months old. So they are exactly the same size. I am sure that Caleb is taller though.
