We're home from spending just over two weeks in Provo with my family. As proof I have, thanks to my voracious camera habits, an overwhelming amount of photos documenting the fact that our days were filled to the brim. Here are a [generous] few of them chronicling some of the highlights of our trip.
Grandma Nancy's red wagon was a big hit.
Garrett whets his green thumb in the front yard flowerbed.
The neighbors keep chickens and ducklings -- a veritable zoo, if you want Garrett's take on it.
All of the cousins: (from left) Peter, Henry, Chloe, Garrett, and Caleb.
The Little Boys table.
Ring Around the Rosie with Aunt Katie and Aunt Chelsea.
Dobbin the Wonder Horse rides again!
Aside from the fun of watching the boys feed the ducks, the highlight of our trip to the duck pond was when Caleb, in an attempt to get a little closer, walked right into the pond. We all watched it happen, and we all agreed that it seemed to happen in slow motion. And yet, none of us was able to stop it. Someday I'm sure Caleb will look back on this moment and laugh, like the rest of us already have, but that day has not yet arrived.
Baby Chloe was as precious as the photographs we'd seen of her led us to believe. Both boys were enamored with her.
According to their final scores, the boys just might have a fruitful future in a bowling league.
As extended family started trickling in to attend my sister's wedding, my cousin hosted an Easter egg hunt at a nearby park. Caleb took to it like a duck to water (or like himself to a duck pond).
The tree in Grandma's backyard was the perfect size and shape for Garrett to launch his boyhood career as a tree climber.
At Katie and David's wedding dinner. Don't they look happy about the fact that they'd be getting married the next day?
Riley, Chelsea, and Chloe: a beautiful little family with their beautiful, and now blessed, baby.
Caleb has developed the unfortunate habit of spying on people under the bathroom door.
And then they were married!
We got all dressed up, so why not spring for a family photo?
Garrett and Lucy, second cousins extraordinaire. They (re)discovered each other at the wedding reception and couldn't seem to squeeze enough hand-holding into their evening together.
Just as Aunt Heidi reached the moral climax of Green Eggs and Ham
, Garrett lost the will to stay awake.
What's a trip to Provo without a visit to the BYU Creamery?
Haunting the playground of my old (and now mostly demolished) elementary school. That pine tree posing with my boys was one I helped plant as a 3rd grader. Back when it was new it was about as tall as Garrett, which just goes to show that twenty years can apparently do a lot for the growth of a tree.
While we watched Katie and Dave open their wedding gifts, Garrett dolled himself up in the discarded trim.
Playtime with Grandpa (who, a week post-heart attack, was doing much better).

Some of these captions made me laugh out loud, I won't lie! Also the picture of Caleb's diapered bum in the air, trying to sneak a peek under the door. I'm still laughing about that!
I'm glad you had such a fun-filled, eventful weekend with family. Even though I can easily imagine how exhausted you are and how very little of a "vacation" such a trip is, the memory building is worth it!
Oh, I loved all these great pictures. You have an enviable knack for capturing candid moments that will make for precious memories. I, like AmyJane, loved the one of Caleb peeking under the door. Classic. He's darling. So glad you got to spend good time with your family and for such a lovely occasion. The wedding looks like it was really a beautiful affair.
You have some seriously adorable kids. Peeking under the door made me laugh and Garrett and the girl holding hands was just so precious.
I loved the family picture at your sister's wedding. You have such a warm, happy looking family. Glad you had such a wonderful trip, and glad your Dad is doing better.
Beautiful and fun pictures! I am aching for a trip home. Even more now after seeing your post. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Whew, what a whirlwind. Just a few comments. 1) Poor Caleb--getting wet when you don't plan on it is among the things I really, really hate. 2) Those bowling ramps are awesome (are they supposed to look like tanks, dinosaurs, nothing at all . . .) 3) Caleb's habit of spying on people is totally hilarious! 4) Love the cute picture of your little family.
Adorable pictures! We are so glad you are back! :D
Sounds like a fun trip! That's so great that y'all were able to be there. And I'm so glad that your dad is recovering well.
I can not believe how chunky lil' Peter is!!! Talk about a whirlwind trip. So glad you made it home and that you were able to have so much fun despite the stressful surprises it threw you.
