Matthew has been evolving into a toddler, and he has the attitude and opinions to prove it. Perhaps it is because he has been cutting a few more teeth, but lately his preferred method of communication is to whine briefly before he commences into total freak out mode. Or, as the situation warrants, to throw things angrily off the table. He's also become something of a mama's boy and wants me in his sight or, better yet, to be in my arms, at all times.
But these changes are not all unfortunate. He may not be as mellow as he was a few months ago, but he's still just as sweet. He blows kisses, waves bye-bye (which is the same action he uses to request more of something), and gets a big kick out of a game of Peek-a-Boo. He distinctly calls me "mama" and reaches both arms straight out when he wants me to pick him up.
He's also on the go-go-go. Not walking yet, or even standing independently (though he does like to practice), but he is constantly exploring, and his explorations often require that he be up on two feet where there is so much more to see and do. And he's a big tease who loves to laugh and play rough with his brothers.
Matthew may no longer be a baby, but he's still a sweet little guy whose wonder, amazement, and smiles bring me no end of joy.

Oh my, that first picture is so cute! That is a face that needs lots and lots of kisses.
